Milpitas Town Center Milpitas, California

Milpitas Shopping Center challenged the diverse talents of Aliquot’s staff. Located next to City Hall, this 25 acre retail and residential project is an icon of mixed use and smart growth under the careful eye of City staff.

An understanding of phasing construction to serve existing lessees, such as MERVYN’S, BIG 5, EL TORITO, RED LOBSTER, and GIORGIO’S, while constructing, a series of new buildings that includes a new SAFEWAY and STAPLES store, demanded all of Aliquot’s skills be provided in a regimented and orderly relevance. Challenged further with permitting requirements by Caltrans, Hetch Hetchy, utility agencies and the City, the project was a carefully planned metamorphosis of approvals on a tight schedule.

Extensive public utilities traversed the shopping center that had to remain in service during the construction of the new area. Aliquot provided engineering design to maximize the use of the existing utility infrastructure as well as cost effectively connecting to them. This included planning for the necessary backbone infrastructure system to serve the residential subdivision.
